The brief
A road that floods is a road that fails. Drainage was priced and programmed first, before the first lift of asphalt.

Chainage was our datum. Every Friday the report showed km of subbase, base and wearing course against the plan, with rain days logged.

Handover
Opened on the agreed date. Budget moved by 1.6% on a signed change for extra culverts at CH 6+200.
